Pilgrimage and faith...

It has crossed my mind before and I can still so well remember my own pilgrimage that early in the morning across the ridges, creeks and roads, all the way to the village of Mantamados, some thirty kilometers to walk. I took it as something I wanted to do and still do, but on a motorbike. The island sort of gets to me and under the skin. For me as a personal experience. Being there, I have understood how close a place this is for a Greek in general and for many Greeks in particular. Faith is strong and perhaps meaning a bit extra during days of agony...
